Tradition plays a big role at the Kentucky Derby.
Those at Churchill Downs can be seen enjoying their mint julep, feasting on burgoo (a popular Kentucky dish), and singing “My Old Kentucky Home.”
Dressing for the occasion is also important part, with hats worn by the men and women as making that fashion statement at the Kentucky Derby.
Many of the stylish hats worn by the festive Derby crowd came from right here in Central Valley.
Dorfman Pacific at 2615 Boeing Way – a 275,000 square foot facility in Stockton – is one of the largest full-line, in-stock headwear companies in the world. It originated in Oakland back in 1921 as Dorfman Hat & Cap Company.
The Scala hats and fascinators from Dorfman Pacific are sold at Churchill Downs.
Many of the hat brands from Dorfman Pacific can be found in the Kentucky Derby Museum store at the track.
But it doesn’t have to be that first Saturday in May for a hat from Dorfman Pacific to be in vogue. The company offers up hats and caps for every season.
